What an incredible launch to 2017!  Art House hosted nearly 100 members and prospective members at the museum on Wednesday night.

The Art House Splash (our fancy gin cocktail) couldn’t have been any more perfect.    Thanks to our special bartenders, Mark and Chris.  As typical with most of our events, great attention was paid to both the libations and the beautiful food!  {We are just trying to keep up with the real beauties inside the galleries!}

We were, once again, blessed by the presence and knowledge of the museum’s executive director, David Butler and lead curator, Stephen Wicks.  They took two groups through the museum’s Higher Ground exhibit where we were enthralled with the works of Beauford Delaney and other regional artists like, Catherine Wiley.  (Thank you, David and Stephen!)

Art House Committee Chair, Courtney Lee, shared our mission and encouraged everyone to either renew their membership or join Art House for the first time.

To make it as easy as possible on our members, membership dues can be paid online right here.  It’s $110 for individuals and $130 for a family membership.

We have an incredible line-up of events, starting Saturday morning, February 4th, and it’s open to all ages. Donuts + Dine will feature donuts from Maker’s Donuts, a look at the artist Jim Dine and his heart-inspired works, and a Valentines making workshop led by two professional art teachers.  An email invitation will follow!

Later in February, we will light up the night at the KMA for an adults only event.  Music, movement and light will mix in new ways as we create art together.  Mark your calendars for February 23rd at 6:30pm for LIGHT WRITE.  Stay tuned for even more details on this enlightening evening!

And members can save the date for a dinner party on April 7th.  This event will be held in a private home; we will learn from the owners about how to buy art!  This will be an inspiring evening – you do NOT want to miss it.
